The installation of the hardy plank siding began on April 8. They are still working at it, but it is almost finished. These guys are definitely pros because the trim work looks incredibly meticulous. You can tell that they paid attention to detail when cutting out around all the vents and wiring for exterior lights. The exterior siding will be painted a neutral green color. We decided to go with Sherwin Williams Cornwall Slate.
Last week, I visited the plumbing supply company's showroom to finalize the plumbing fixture selection. Fixtures will mainly be brushed nickel or stainless finishes in a traditional style.
We chose to move away from our original white farmhouse sink for a more practical work station stainless steel sink. It is one basin, with a center drain and several included accessories like a colander and cutting board. It was half the cost of the farmhouse fireclay sink while also being easier to maintain! I think it will look beautiful in the island and serve us well for many years to come.

Yesterday, I met with the lighting supply company to choose lights for the entire house. I have spent many hours reviewing all my options online and creating my wishlist. It was so thrilling to have my appointment with the lighting professional to make selections! The style we chose is traditional, southern, with a hint of coastal and modern. I am inspired by the homes you would see in Charleston, South Carolina, and Savannah, Georgia. I love bright and airy rooms that also feel cozy.
